Norwegian company Fuella has entered into a significant agreement with Brazil's Port of Pecém in Ceará to establish a substantial green ammonia production facility. This facility, slated to produce 400,000 tons of green ammonia annually for global export, marks Fuella's second major green ammonia initiative in Brazil following a similar project in Rio de Janeiro. The $1.5 billion project is projected to generate more than 1,000 new jobs, supporting the local economy in Ceará. Fuella's selection of Ceará and Rio de Janeiro is driven by the favorable natural conditions for renewable energy production. By harnessing wind, solar, and hydropower resources to create green hydrogen, Fuella aims to produce cleaner green ammonia as an alternative to traditional ammonia derived from natural gas. The projects not only align with Brazil's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy sources but also position Fuella as a key player in the global green ammonia market.
