Gensol Engineering has successfully secured a major solar PV project worth Rs 780 crore from a prominent public utility in Maharashtra. The project involves the development of a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar PV power plant, which is set to be executed over a 15-month period. Gensol Engineering will oversee every aspect of the project, ranging from land acquisition to design, engineering, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant. Additionally, the company will handle the development of the power evacuation infrastructure to the STU substation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the project's lifecycle. The contract also encompasses three years of operation and maintenance services for the plant, including the switchyard and transmission infrastructure. CEO Shilpa Urhekar highlighted the significance of this project as a testament to Gensol's expertise in offering holistic solutions. The company also reported a notable 29 percent increase in net profit after tax in the recent quarter. Furthermore, Gensol Engineering's partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd to establish India's first green hydrogen-powered steel facility marks a milestone in sustainable steel production. This initiative, part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aims to drive the adoption of green hydrogen in place of traditional fossil fuels, setting a precedent for similar projects across India.
