Hero Future Energies (HFE) has been selected as the industry partner for the Bhubaneswar Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster (HVIC), supported by IIT-Bhubaneswar. The project aims to provide solutions for the direct reduction of iron and heavy-duty mobility, utilizing renewable energy and green hydrogen. The Indian government has approved Rs 200 crore in funding for four green hydrogen valley projects, including Bhubaneswar, to promote research, innovation, and the adoption of clean hydrogen technologies. The Bhubaneswar-HVIC will employ electrolysis to produce hydrogen, targeting applications in the steel and mobility sectors. These initiatives are part of a broader plan to establish hydrogen valleys, geographically designated areas where hydrogen plays a crucial role across multiple sectors. By fostering collaboration between scientific and industrial entities, the project intends to showcase the potential of clean hydrogen solutions for widespread deployment.
