The Himachal Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards sustainable energy by signing a Memorandum of Commitment with Spray Engineering Devices Ltd to establish India's first integrated manufacturing facility for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Green Hydrogen, and 2G Ethanol. The Rs 1,400 crore-project will be located in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) in Solan district and is anticipated to generate 1,000 employment opportunities, aligning with the state's goal to transform into a 'green energy' state by March 2026. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, present at the signing ceremony, highlighted the importance of the project and urged the company to complete the facility within a year. The project's initial energy requirement of 30 MW of green hydrogen is expected to increase to 50 MW, showcasing the state's commitment to transitioning to renewable energy sources. The MoC was signed by state representative Yunus and company Managing Director Vivek Verma, with the attendance of Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and MLA Sanjay Awasthy.
