In a proactive move, Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has urged Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, to designate ONGC's Green Hydrogen Project to Mangaluru. The MP emphasized the potential benefits such a project could bring to the local population, including job creation and overall growth. With ONGC's interest in establishing the project within the Mangaluru Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), utilizing 160 acres of available land, the initiative holds promise for the region's development. Moreover, the MP highlighted the readiness of the local administration to provide the necessary backing for the project's success. Additionally, MP Chowta advocated for the inclusion of project-displaced families post the JBF Petrochemicals-GAIL merger, underscoring the importance of addressing social aspects of industrial transitions.
