Morocco's government has recently approved a series of major green hydrogen projects worth 319 billion dirhams, aimed at producing ammonia, steel, and industrial fuel. The selected companies for these projects include Ortus from the US, Acciona from Spain, Nordex from Germany, Taqa from the UAE, Cepsa from Spain, Nareva from Morocco, Acwa Power from Saudi Arabia, UEG and China Three Gorges from China. Each of these companies will focus on different aspects of green hydrogen production, such as ammonia, fuel, and steel manufacturing. As part of the agreement, each project will be allocated up to 30,000 hectares of land. This initiative aligns with Morocco's goal to increase its renewable energy capacity to 52% by 2030, up from the current 45%.
