NHPC, a state-run organization, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bihar government to invest ₹5,500 crore in solar power and green hydrogen projects in the state. The MoU aims to develop 1,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power and green hydrogen mobility pilot projects, advancing Bihar's renewable energy goals and contributing to India's energy transition efforts. This initiative is expected to create approximately 800 employment opportunities, fostering socio-economic growth and empowering local communities. By exchanging 'Intent for Investment' MoU during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 event, NHPC showcases its commitment to sustainability and innovation while supporting Bihar's vision of becoming a hub for renewable energy and green technology. NHPC, known for hydropower development, also has a significant presence in solar and wind power projects, with a total installed capacity of 7,232.90 MW across various ventures.
