NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Honeywell UOP India have entered into a collaboration to explore the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities on April 25, 2025, is aimed at leveraging Honeywell's proprietary eFining technology and utilizing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions captured from NTPC's power plants and green hydrogen. The focus of the collaboration is to conduct a feasibility study on SAF production, which is a crucial element of NTPC Green's Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh. This hub, spread across approximately 1,200 acres, is envisioned to serve as an integrated center for green chemicals and sustainable manufacturing processes. By combining the technical know-how of Honeywell UOP in SAF production with NTPC's dedication to renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives, this partnership is a significant stride towards decarbonizing the aviation industry. It aligns with NTPC's target of reaching a 60 gigawatt (GW) renewable energy portfolio by 2032, showcasing the organization's commitment to sustainable energy development and India's transition towards green energy.
