Ohmium International has inaugurated a new gigafactory in Doddaballapura, India, near Bengaluru, aimed at bolstering the production of green hydrogen to cater to the escalating market requirements. The facility, initially designed to generate 2 GW of polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyzer systems, is poised for expansion to 4 GW. Ohmium's CEO, Arne Ballantine, expressed excitement over the milestone achievement, emphasizing the company's dedication to providing sustainable hydrogen solutions globally. The COO, Ashwin Varma, highlighted the factory's capabilities in mass-producing hypermodular PEM electrolyzers efficiently and cost-effectively. Ohmium's strategic partnerships with NTPC and Tata Projects, alongside collaborations with research institutions like CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute and IIT Madras Research Park, underscore its commitment to innovation and meeting the surging demand for green hydrogen projects.
