PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has initiated the establishment of a project special purpose vehicle (SPV), Kakinada I Transmission Ltd, to facilitate an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme for green hydrogen projects in Andhra Pradesh. The scheme, named 'Transmission system for proposed green hydrogen/green ammonia projects in Kakinada area (Phase-I)', will involve a bidding process through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. The project aims to support AM Green Ammonia (India) Pvt Ltd in setting up green hydrogen/green ammonia manufacturing capacity in Kakinada. The key infrastructure component of the project is the construction of a greenfield 765/400kV substation in Kakinada, which will be connected to the existing 765kV Vemagiri-Srikakulam double-circuit line. With an estimated cost of Rs.1,618.50 crore and a 24-month implementation timeline, the project signifies a significant investment in green energy infrastructure. PFCCL has appointed N K Enterprises as the technical consultant for pre-project activities, indicating a step forward in the development process. Additionally, PFCCL is also involved in two other ISTS-TBCB schemes aimed at enhancing renewable energy transmission in Gujarat and Mandsaur. The incorporation of project SPVs and the progress in appointing consultants demonstrate the commitment towards advancing green energy projects in the region.
