Costain has been granted a contract to lead the front-end engineering and design (FEED) process for a new hydrogen pipeline network in Teesside, UK. This initiative is part of the H2Teesside (H2T) project operated by bp, which aims to become one of the UK's largest blue hydrogen production facilities. The 31km onshore pipeline distribution network will transport low-carbon hydrogen from bp's production facility to industrial consumers, replacing natural gas and promoting decarbonisation. The project is set to be completed by 2025 and is expected to create job opportunities in the region. Technip Energies has also been chosen by bp to deliver FEED for the H2Teesside hydrogen production site, focusing on project execution methodology, schedule, and cost. Costain's involvement in the project aligns with its commitment to delivering critical infrastructure for decarbonisation and improving prosperity in the UK.
