Accelera by Cummins and GAIL (India) Limited have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on green hydrogen and zero-emissions technologies in India. This partnership will leverage Accelera's expertise in hydrogen generation technology and GAIL's established natural gas infrastructure to explore opportunities in hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. The focus will be on various sectors, including transport, power, and steel. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen across India and support the National Green Hydrogen Mission. GAIL's successful commissioning of a green hydrogen plant in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, with Accelera's assistance, is a testament to their commitment to sustainable energy. The partnership will work on developing a robust hydrogen value chain to help India achieve its target of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. This collaboration also involves sharing knowledge on hydrogen blending, developing industry standards, and exploring new applications for green hydrogen technology. Accelera, known for large-scale hydrogen production using PEM electrolysis, has a global presence and has deployed numerous electrolyzer units worldwide, including in Canada and the U.S. This partnership signifies a significant step towards advancing green hydrogen technology in India and supporting the country's transition to cleaner energy sources.
