Hygreen Energy, a global electrolyzer manufacturer and hydrogen technology developer, has successfully delivered a 25-Megawatt electrolyzer system to Huadian Weifang Power Generation Co., Ltd. in Weifang, China. This project represents the largest hydrogen production initiative in the region and is a significant step towards adopting electrolyzers for larger-scale hydrogen production projects. The system is designed to produce 3.6 tons of hydrogen per day with high purity levels. It consists of five 5-Megawatt electrolyzer stacks integrated with storage and distribution solutions. The hydrogen production project aims to reduce renewable energy wastage, improve grid resilience, and facilitate affordable hydrogen adoption in Shandong, China. The hydrogen generated will be utilized for a refueling station on-site and mixed with natural gas for industrial and residential use. Commissioning of the system began in November 2024 and is expected to be finalized in Q1 of 2025. This initiative is the first large-scale hydrogen energy storage demonstration under China's 'Hydrogen Into Ten Thousand Homes' program. Hygreen Energy's CEO, Benny Wang, emphasized the importance of this project in advancing renewable energy transitions and implementing larger electrolyzer systems. Hygreen Energy continues to expand its presence in the hydrogen sector, with plans to supply a 40-megawatt electrolyzer system for another major project in China. With over 17 years of experience and a track record of delivering more than 300 electrolyzer projects worldwide, Hygreen Energy is a key player in promoting green hydrogen across various industries.
