During a meeting between US President Biden and Indian Prime Minister Modi, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) to boost economic growth, sustainability, and competitiveness. They praised India's ratification of key agreements under the IPEF and emphasized the economic diversity represented by the 14 IPEF partners. The leaders commended the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership for its role in enhancing energy security, clean energy innovation, and addressing climate change. Noteworthy collaborations included the establishment of a National Center for Hydrogen Safety in India and the utilization of the Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform for clean energy manufacturing partnerships. The memorandum of cooperation between the US Agency for International Development and the International Solar Alliance focused on promoting sustainable power systems leveraging renewable energy sources. Additionally, both nations aimed to accelerate the development of renewable energy, battery storage, and clean technology deployment in India, with plans for a Green Transition Fund. Efforts were made to secure resilient critical minerals supply chains and promote diverse supply chains for critical minerals. The IPEF Supply Chain Agreement, signed by 14 partner countries, aims to enhance supply chain resilience through deeper collaboration to mitigate disruptions. The agreement was triggered into force provision following ratifications by five countries.
