Iveco Bus has secured orders for 13 hydrogen fuel cell buses in France by the Urban Community of Dunkirk and Grand Annecy Agglomeration, facilitated through UGAP, France's primary public purchasing center. The Urban Community of Dunkirk ordered 10 units, while Grand Annecy Agglomeration opted for 3 units. These buses, set to be delivered gradually until 2026, will enhance the current fleet of electric buses operated by both entities. Interestingly, Safra had also secured an order for 10 fuel cell buses in Dunkirk in 2023, but the company faced challenges and entered receivership in early 2025. It remains unclear whether the orders for 10 units from Iveco Bus are in addition to Safra's or a replacement. The buses feature a combination of a 100 kW Hyundai fuel cell module and a 69 kWh FPT Industrial battery pack, marketed as E-Way H2 in Europe and Heuliex Bus GX 337 H2 in the French market. These buses are designed to be highly efficient, boasting a 15 to 20% reduction in hydrogen consumption compared to conventional levels. With a length of 12 meters, they offer seating for up to 110 passengers. Giorgio Zino, the Head of Iveco Bus Europe Commercial Operations, expressed pride in the trust shown by the customers in adopting their hydrogen buses. He emphasized their commitment to assisting customers in transitioning to zero emissions.
