Proton Motor Power Systems has successfully delivered a follow-up order to DB Bahnbau Gruppe for the supply of hydrogen fuel cell systems, specifically for the EnerRail H024 brand. The 24kW power output emergency power system consists of a HyCabinet S24 fuel cell system composed of three HyModule® S8 units, a DC/AC converter, and a gas storage unit capable of providing 48 hours of back-up power. The installation took place at a railway centre in the greater Berlin region, with the system passing the site acceptance test in May after real-world testing and validation by the customer. Proton Motor's CEO, Dr. Faiz Nahab, expressed satisfaction with the follow-up order, highlighting the company's advancements in commercializing its hydrogen fuel cell technologies. Nahab also emphasized Proton Motor's commitment to providing zero-emission solutions as Deutsche Bahn aims to eliminate diesel generators from its operations by 2026. The successful deployment of the hydrogen fuel cell system in Berlin signifies a significant step towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation within the German rail network.
