Voith, based in Heidenheim, Germany, has been focusing on hydrogen for heavy-duty transportation, leading to the establishment of Voith HySTech GmbH in 2024. Voith has now partnered with Weifu High Technology Group from Wuxi, China, to work on hydrogen storage systems. The cooperation involves setting up two joint ventures, one for the global market and the other for China. The aim is to leverage each other's expertise in research, development, and production of hydrogen technologies. Weifu's experience in automotive applications and access to the Chinese market complements Voith's strengths. The agreement, supported by Bosch, is expected to finalize by Q4 2024, pending regulatory approvals.
