Robertson Civil Engineering (RCE) has been selected to lead a significant hydrogen project in north-east Scotland, specifically for the development of the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub. This hub, a collaboration between bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy Limited and Aberdeen City Council, aims to establish a green hydrogen facility for production, storage, and distribution in Aberdeen. The project is part of a larger initiative to create an energy cluster in the region, with the ultimate goal of making Aberdeen the 'Net Zero Capital of Europe' by promoting the growth of green offshore energies. RCE will oversee the construction activities for the civil works and structural infrastructure at the site, with assistance from design partner Fairhurst. Additionally, the project will receive advisory support from Turner & Townsend for various aspects such as cost management and procurement. The executive director of RCE, Martin Kiely, expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the alignment of the project's vision with Robertson's values of inclusive growth and community support.
