HRS, a French designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations, has partnered with Element 2, a key player in the hydrogen sector, to accelerate the development of hydrogen mobility in the United Kingdom. The collaboration involves the installation of an HRS14 hydrogen station at Teesside International Airport in Darlington. Element 2, established in 2020, is focusing on building the first large-scale national hydrogen refueling station network in the UK and Ireland to cater to the increasing demand from commercial fleet operators and individuals transitioning to zero-emission transportation. The HRS station, supported by a grant from Innovate UK, will provide green hydrogen to refuel various vehicles as part of long-term trials. This order marks a significant milestone in the European success of HRS stations and signifies the UK's commitment to hydrogen expansion, aiming to establish 10 GW of hydrogen production by 2030 with a robust refueling station infrastructure.
