Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd has awarded a contract for the supply of hydrogen-powered feeder buses in Kuching, Malaysia, to a joint venture comprising SKS Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd and Sun Credit Sdn Bhd. The contract involves the design, engineering, procurement, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of 55 single-deck hydrogen fuel cell feeder buses, with a total value of RM122,441,222. These buses will support the Autonomous Rapid Transit system network under the Kuching Urban Transportation System project, providing first and last-mile connectivity. The contract will span 43 months. The award signifies a significant advancement towards developing a more reliable, convenient, and eco-friendly public transport network in Kuching. Sarawak Metro's CEO emphasized the importance of this contract for enhancing Sarawak's public transportation system. The signing ceremony involved representatives from the companies involved, showcasing the commitment to improving transportation infrastructure in Sarawak.
