Azerbaijan's state oil company, SOCAR, is actively investing in expanding its energy infrastructure in Switzerland. In line with its sustainability goals, SOCAR plans to install 100 high-speed electric vehicle charging stations by 2026. Additionally, the company is involved in a green hydrogen production project with Swiss partners to build a 10-megawatt electrolysis plant in Freienbach. This plant will produce 1,000-1,200 tons of green hydrogen yearly, transported to SOCAR refueling stations. SOCAR has already launched a hydrogen refueling station near Bern and aims to have 206 refueling stations in Switzerland by the end of 2023. The company's global expansion includes offices in various countries, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability and innovation. SOCAR's strategic development plan focuses on gas projects, oil refining, and sustainable energy solutions, positioning the company as a leader in the energy transition.
