Daimler Truck is making significant strides in the advancement of sustainable transport by conducting real-life tests of its hydrogen-powered trucks in collaboration with major companies like Amazon, Ineos, and Air Products. These tests, taking place in the German town of Wörth, aim to provide practical insights into the operational feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell trucks for daily logistics operations. The trucks, equipped with two hydrogen tanks and a range of approximately 1,000 kilometers, are set to transport various goods, including building materials, shipping containers, and compressed gases on long-haul routes. CEO Martin Daum views this testing phase as crucial for future series production, emphasizing the need for a supportive infrastructure for electric vehicles to ensure sustainable transport success. Daimler Truck's commitment extends to battery-electric vehicles like the eActros 600, expected to enter series production by the year's end, covering 500 kilometers without recharging.
