Hyundai Motor Co. has introduced an enhanced version of its Xcient heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell truck at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2025 in Anaheim, California. The upgraded Xcient features a newly designed hydrogen fuel cell system and is designed to cater to a wide range of customer needs, including port transportation and medium-distance logistics. Powered by a 180 kWh hydrogen fuel cell system, the truck is equipped with 10 tanks holding approximately 68 kilograms of hydrogen, allowing it to support various commercial transportation requirements. Ken Ramirez, head of Hyundai Motor's global commercial vehicle and hydrogen business, emphasized the company's commitment to offering practical solutions for the transport industry. He stated that Hyundai aims to empower fleet partners to navigate a changing landscape and drive the transition towards a more sustainable future. The unveiling of the revamped Xcient at the expo showcases Hyundai's dedication to innovation and sustainability in the commercial vehicle sector, highlighting its focus on eco-friendly technologies and advancements in clean energy solutions.
