Tata Motors has kicked off India's first hydrogen truck trials, setting a milestone in the country's journey towards sustainable transport. With 16 advanced hydrogen-powered trucks scheduled for testing along major freight corridors such as Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR, the initiative aims to foster zero-emission transportation in the commercial sector. These trucks will feature cutting-edge technologies like Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines (H2ICE) and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), offering operational ranges of 300-500 km and ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly long-haul freight movement. The trials, supported by the National Green Hydrogen Mission, have garnered praise from Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Pralhad Joshi for their potential to revolutionize India's transport sector, reduce emissions, and bolster energy self-sufficiency. Tata Motors' Executive Director, Girish Wagh, highlighted the company's dedication to sustainable mobility and clean energy innovations, showcasing a broader commitment to green transportation solutions.
