Deakin University's Hycel and Australian aerospace company AMSL Aero have joined forces in a research partnership with the goal of advancing hydrogen fuel cell technology for aviation applications. AMSL Aero will be the first industry partner to access commercial testing of fuel cells at Hycel's Technology Hub in Warrnambool, Victoria. The collaboration is crucial for AMSL Aero's development of Vertiia, Australia's first hydrogen-powered eVTOL aircraft designed for passenger transportation in remote areas. The partnership aims to verify fuel cell performance and durability for such applications, integrating AMSL's hydrogen expertise with Hycel's research capabilities.
