NEXTCHEM, a subsidiary of MAIRE S.p.A., has secured a licensing contract with DG Fuels Louisiana to implement its NX Circular gasification technology for a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in Louisiana. The plant, expected to be operational in 2028, aims to produce 450 million liters of SAF annually by utilizing residual biomass and municipal waste. This initiative aligns with the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Fuels & Products Shot initiative, which targets the decarbonization of the aviation sector through SAF production. Furthermore, the SAF produced from biomass or waste resources will adhere to the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) requirements, reducing airlines' carbon offsetting obligations. MAIRE S.p.A., a key player in the Energy Transition field, views this project as a significant milestone in enabling industry decarbonization through circular solutions, emphasizing the importance of sustainable technology in markets like the United States and globally. With a focus on waste-to-chemical solutions, MAIRE and its subsidiary MyRechemical are at the forefront of promoting renewable energy and sustainable practices in the aviation industry.
