Alfa Laval, based in Lund, Sweden, has secured its first contract for the ammonia fuel supply system, FCM Ammonia, demonstrating its leading role in developing solutions for decarbonizing the maritime industry. The contract involves installing the ammonia fuel supply system on seven ammonia dual-fuel LPG/ammonia carriers for Tianjin Southwest Maritime, marking a significant step towards sustainable fuel adoption. With the maritime sector projected to double by 2050, the demand for low-carbon fuels like ammonia is on the rise, making innovative solutions crucial. Peter Sahlen, Head of Marine Separation, Fuel Supply System & Heat Transfer at Alfa Laval, highlighted the company's commitment to providing safe and efficient transition to low-carbon fuels through research, partnerships, and product development. The FCM Ammonia units will be installed at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong shipyard for TSM, with deliveries scheduled for the end of 2025.
