Torghatten Nord A/S, a Norwegian ferry operator, has entered into a partnership with MAN Cryo to design two hydrogen-powered RoPax ferries. This project is part of Norway's efforts to introduce emission-free major vessels for environmentally friendly crossings. MAN Cryo, specializing in cryogenic equipment engineering for gas handling, will design bunkering mechanisms, hydrogen pipes, and vent masts for the vessels, as well as act as the system integrator for the hydrogen process plant. The vessels, manufactured in Turkey and Norway, will incorporate the hydrogen equipment in Norway and operate on compressed hydrogen, aiming for delivery by 2026.
