In France, the Urban Community of Dunkirk and the Grand Annecy Agglomeration have placed orders for hydrogen-powered H2 city buses from IVECO BUS through France's central public purchasing body UGAP. The order consists of ten hydrogen buses for Dunkirk and three for Annecy, with deliveries scheduled to start in the coming months and continue until 2026. Each 12-meter H2 bus has a capacity for up to 110 passengers and will be integrated into transportation networks that already include electric buses from the same manufacturer. The hydrogen propulsion system of IVECO's H2 model incorporates a 100 kW fuel cell developed by Hyundai and a 69 kWh battery pack from FPT Industrial. This design is aimed at reducing hydrogen consumption and supporting the durability of critical components like the battery and fuel cell. The buses are part of the UGAP catalogue, enabling public authorities to procure these vehicles through an established national framework.
