Hyundai Motor presented the revamped Xcient heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell truck at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2025 held in Anaheim, California. The upgraded Xcient boasts a newly designed hydrogen fuel cell system and 10 tanks for hydrogen storage, accommodating around 68 kilograms of hydrogen. This design allows the vehicle to cater to a wide range of commercial transportation requirements, including port transportation and medium-distance logistics. Ken Ramirez, the head of Hyundai Motor's global commercial vehicle and hydrogen business, emphasized the company's dedication to offering practical and sustainable solutions to the transport industry. He highlighted the importance of empowering fleet partners to adapt to the evolving landscape and drive the transition towards a smarter and more eco-friendly future. The Xcient's 180 kWh hydrogen fuel cell system underscores Hyundai's commitment to cleaner energy alternatives and represents a step towards reducing carbon emissions in the commercial vehicle sector.
