Northern Ireland bus manufacturer Wrightbus has launched NewPower, an initiative aimed at converting more than 1,000 diesel buses into electric ones over the next three years. Partnering with Forsee Power, Wrightbus plans to use ZEN PLUS battery systems for this conversion process, with energy densities ranging from 74 to 84 kWh. The company's strategic move to establish a high-tech factory in Bicester, Oxfordshire, signifies a shift towards repowering thermal engine vehicles to accelerate decarbonation in the transportation sector.
