NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Bharat Light and Power Private Limited (BLP) have joined forces through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to propel green energy initiatives in India and bolster the nation's journey towards achieving carbon-neutral goals. The MoU exchange took place in the presence of senior officials from both organizations at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi, solidifying their commitment to environmental sustainability. The primary focus of this collaboration is to explore the utilization of green hydrogen and its by-products from NGEL and its associates to supply third parties. Additionally, the partnership will delve into avenues for commercializing captured or biogenic carbon from NGEL's activities. NGEL, with the support of its affiliates, will be responsible for setting up essential infrastructure for green hydrogen production, including renewable energy projects, and overseeing day-to-day operations under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model to meet its Net Zero obligations. This initiative directly aligns with the Indian government's strategic agenda to foster the adoption of green hydrogen and carbon capture technologies, further cementing the country's transition towards a more sustainable energy landscape.
