Keppel Ltd.'s Infrastructure Division has partnered with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to establish a clean energy supply chain in Asia. The non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to advance the energy transition and promote sustainable digitalization in the region. The collaboration will involve areas such as renewable energy, energy trade transmission lines, hydrogen, ammonia, data centers, and subsea cables in Asia. By leveraging Keppel's sustainability and connectivity solutions expertise and JBIC's financing capabilities and business networks, the partnership seeks to contribute to carbon neutrality and economic growth in Asia. This collaboration also paves the way for potential financing for Keppel's projects related to importing electricity and developing low-carbon energy solutions. Mr. Chua Yong Hwee, Managing Director of Energy Nexus at Keppel's Infrastructure Division, expressed that the partnership with JBIC represents a significant step towards supporting Asia's low-carbon future. The objective of the collaboration is to establish a robust energy supply chain in Asia that will set new sustainability standards by combining Keppel's energy and digital infrastructure knowledge with JBIC's financial strength and Japanese technology, ultimately driving the region towards a more sustainable future.
