The state's Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030) aims to achieve prosperity, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability by 2030 through policy reforms focused on economic growth, data-driven society, and long-term sustainability. Sarawak is prioritizing renewable energy and decarbonisation efforts to strengthen energy security, economic resilience, and regional leadership. The state's hydropower projects and upcoming Baleh Dam will enhance power capacity, while hybrid renewable solutions like the solar-hydro system at Batang Ai Dam and future solar-wind projects diversify the energy mix. A 500MW hydrogen-ready Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) scheduled for completion in 2027 will further boost power supply efficiency and reduce emissions, positioning Sarawak as a green energy powerhouse in ASEAN with aspirations to become the 'Battery' of the region. Sarawak's commitment to environmental governance is evident through policies promoting carbon storage, GHG reporting, and resource management, coupled with active industrial decarbonisation and green innovation initiatives.
