The University of Indonesia's Supermileage Vehicle (SMV) team has once again brought pride to Indonesia by emerging victorious in the Shell Eco Marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2025 competition. The Nakoela team secured the 1st position in the Hydrogen Vehicle Prototype Category, while the Arjuna Team claimed the 4th spot in the Urban Battery Electric Category. Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, the Chancellor of UI, commended the team's achievements and emphasized that these successes demonstrate that UI students excel not only academically but also in non-academic pursuits. This win is not a one-off for SMV UI as they had also achieved top rankings in the previous year's event. The Chancellor expressed UI's pride in the international recognition and hopes that it will ignite enthusiasm among other students to contribute remarkable innovations for the country. At the competition in Qatar, SMV UI's Nakoela and Arjuna teams showcased their design and technological prowess, leveraging STEM skills to construct highly efficient vehicles for the race track. With their innovative approaches, SMV UI outperformed 750 participants from 16 countries. The Nakoela Team, comprising eleven members, was led by Haidar Satrio W. as the Team Manager and F. X Godwin as the racer. On the other hand, the Arjuna Team, consisting of nine individuals, was spearheaded by Rafael Sinema H. as the Team Manager and Bimo Putra D. as the racer. This remarkable accomplishment not only highlights the technical skills of the students but also underscores the importance of youth empowerment, academic excellence, and innovation in the field of competitive engineering.
