An alliance comprising nearly twenty European companies, including thyssenkrupp nucera, has been formed for the H2Med Southwestern Hydrogen Corridor. This collaboration aims to create a European hydrogen single market by interlinking hydrogen production, storage, and consumption projects across France, Germany, Portugal, and Spain. The primary objective is to expedite the implementation of the H2Med Corridor to drive the decarbonization of industrial sectors, with a target completion by the early 2030s. The initiative is in line with the European Green Deal, aiming to establish a climate-neutral Europe powered by renewable hydrogen. The alliance's focus includes developing a robust hydrogen value chain that encompasses the Iberian Peninsula and Northwest Europe. By leveraging the strengths of leading European companies, the alliance intends to enhance infrastructure expansion vital for the hydrogen economy. This collaboration is crucial for connecting supply and demand, increasing production capacities, and creating a trans-European hydrogen ecosystem. The initiative not only aids in decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries but also extends its benefits to sectors like aviation, maritime, and heavy transport, ensuring Europe's energy security and competitiveness.
