European Commission Commissioners arrived at the Hyderabad House venue in New Delhi on a bus powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology, developed in collaboration with Tata Motors and Indian Oil Corporation Limited. The visit was part of a two-day bilateral visit to India by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and members of the European College of Commissioners. The delegation engaged in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on key areas such as connectivity, green and clean energy, mobility and talent, security, Mediterranean issues, and the expansion of the European Union. The visit highlighted the strategic partnership between Europe and India, with both sides expressing the importance of trusted friendships amidst global conflicts and competition. The European Commission President also emphasized the significance of taking the strategic partnership to the next level. The visit also included participation from Indian officials like External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai. Discussions during the bilateral cluster meeting centered around various topics like connectivity, green and clean energy, mobility and talent, security, and the EU expansion. The engagement aimed to enhance cooperation and strengthen ties between India and the European Union.
