In Nantes and Lyon, France, Lhyfe and Elyse Energy have announced the Green Coast project to produce e-methanol from green renewable hydrogen at the Loire estuary's industrial port. This initiative aims to decarbonise maritime transport, addressing the industry's significant CO2 emissions. Supported by local entities like Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port, the project is part of the region's ambition to transition to more sustainable energy sources. The synergy between Lhyfe's hydrogen production unit and Elyse Energy's e-methanol production facility signifies a step towards creating a new industrial fabric in Western France, with a focus on decarbonisation and economic competitiveness. With plans to produce 150,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually, Green Coast is expected to have a substantial impact on the local industrial landscape.
