On November 15, Mobility & Innovation Production (MIP) revealed the first Slovak hydrogen truck at Slovakia Ring in Orechová Potôň, western Slovakia. The truck, built on the Ford F-Max platform, boasts four hydrogen tanks providing a range of up to 750 km per top-up. The vehicle, powered by a 540-kW electric engine, has successfully passed homologation tests for the European market. MIP's managing director, Pavel Čulík, emphasized the achievement as a result of teamwork, courage, and innovation. The State Secretary of the Economy Ministry, Szabolcs Hodosy, praised the truck's development and highlighted Slovakia's potential in the field of sustainable technologies. MIP, a Slovak startup, focuses on emission-free propulsion systems development, with a track record including the launch of a hydrogen city bus in 2022. At the unveiling, a memorandum of understanding was signed with potential customers Metrans and Waberer’s for real-world testing of the truck in operational scenarios. The collaboration between MIP and Ford Trucks aims to push the boundaries of sustainable transport solutions, with both companies expressing satisfaction and commitment to further innovative projects. The successful development of the hydrogen truck signifies Slovakia's capability in pioneering green transport solutions and embracing cutting-edge technology.
