Statkraft, a leading renewable energy company, has been granted up to 107 million euros from the EU Innovation Fund to support its green hydrogen production project in Emden, Germany. The plan includes a 200 MW electrolysis plant and a 50 MW heat pump system, with the capacity to generate 20,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen and 50,000 MWh of green heat annually. This initiative aligns with the EU's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through innovative technologies. Statkraft aims to be a major player in green hydrogen production in Europe, with a focus on sustainability and energy transition. The company has also been working on a 10 MW electrolyser pilot project to supply hydrogen to filling stations in the region.
