Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has partnered with Penspen to conduct a hydrogen gap analysis for the 877-km natural gas pipeline in southern Europe. The UK team at Penspen is conducting a thorough review of TAP's aboveground installations, block valves, and compressor stations to assess the feasibility of integrating hydrogen blends into the existing gas line. This initiative not only aims to potentially increase the pipeline's capacity but also aligns with the goal of decarbonizing the region. The TAP pipeline, operational since the end of 2020, plays a crucial role in the Southern Gas Corridor, enhancing Europe's energy security and diversifying its supply network.
