Construction engineering company Ashoka Buildcon has announced its plans to invest Rs 9,000 crore in establishing a green hydrogen plant in Bihar. The company's COO-Renewable Energy, Mayank Sharma, revealed this ambitious project during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 event. Ashoka Buildcon, known for its expertise in highway construction, power distribution, and solar projects, aims to leverage a 1,250 MW solar project to fuel the green hydrogen plant. By utilizing clean electricity from solar energy to produce green hydrogen through water splitting, the company is paving the way for sustainable energy production. The initial phase of the plant is set to be developed in Begusarai, Bihar, with an expected completion timeline of 1.5 to 2 years. Following the first phase, subsequent phases will be put into motion. This endeavor underscores the company's commitment to green initiatives and its proactive role in advancing the renewable energy landscape in India. With a notable order book and successful projects in the renewable energy sector, Ashoka Buildcon's substantial investment in green hydrogen signifies a step towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
