The HP Green R&D Centre (HPGRDC) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has partnered with Engineers India Ltd (EIL) to commercialize its indigenously developed Hydrogen Pressure Swing Adsorption (HP-PSA) technology. This collaboration signifies a significant milestone in India's journey towards self-reliance in advanced technologies, in alignment with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. HP Green R&D Centre will act as the Technology Licensor, while EIL will be the exclusive Technology Partner responsible for engineering, marketing, and commercialization within India. The HP-PSA technology, tested in a commercial-scale unit at HPCL's Visakh Refinery, has demonstrated its capabilities by operating seamlessly for over nine years. HPCL becomes India's first and the world's third Hydrogen PSA Technology Licensor through this breakthrough. The collaboration aims to address the growing demand for hydrogen in the energy sector and enhance technological self-reliance in India. Vipul Kumar Maheshwari, HPCL's Executive Director of R&D, expressed optimism about the partnership with EIL and highlighted the expertise that EIL brings to the table. The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to India's technological self-reliance and innovation efforts. The HP Green R&D Centre in Bengaluru, known for its 20 cutting-edge laboratories, has been at the forefront of technology development. The centre has developed and commercialized numerous technologies, filed hundreds of patents, and played a crucial role in refining processes, cost efficiency, and product development. Through this partnership, HPCL and EIL aim to advance India's energy and technology sectors, establishing the country as a global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
