In a significant development, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd have partnered to explore the feasibility of mass-using hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in India. As part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies, HMIL has provided IndianOil with a Hyundai NEXO Hydrogen FCEV for real-world testing on Indian roads over a two-year trial period covering an estimated distance of 40,000 km. The collaboration also includes assessing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and conducting studies on the economic and environmental benefits of adopting hydrogen-powered vehicles in the Indian market.
