Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined India's ambitious renewable energy goals during the India Energy Week 2025 in Delhi. India has significantly increased its solar energy generation capacity and aims to become the third largest solar power generating nation. Modi announced targets to add 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, achieve net-zero carbon emissions for Indian Railways, and produce five million metric tonnes of green hydrogen by the same year. The country has already achieved a 19% ethanol blending rate and aims to reach 20% by October 2025.
