INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has commissioned its first green hydrogen manufacturing plant at Asahi India Glass’ (AIS) greenfield float glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This initiative marks India's debut in utilizing green hydrogen for float glass production, exemplifying a move towards sustainable manufacturing practices. Under a 20-year offtake agreement, INOXAP will provide green hydrogen to AIS, produced through electrolysis powered by solar energy. The plant's capacity reaches 190 tpa, with an initial phase set to supply 95 tpa. AIS has also invested in a solar power plant to ensure a renewable energy source for hydrogen production. Siddharth Jain, the Managing Director of INOXAP, highlighted the significance of this plant as India's inaugural green hydrogen facility in the float glass domain. AIS's Chittorgarh facility, established in collaboration with AGC Europe, is dedicated to manufacturing high-quality float glass tailored for automotive and architectural applications.
