Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, emphasized India's focus on the Green Hydrogen Mission during a bilateral meeting on US-India Civil Nuclear Commerce in New Delhi. The mission aims to decarbonize heavy industries, transportation, and power generation to achieve global climate goals. Dr Singh also announced India's astronaut from the Gaganyaan Mission will join the International Space Station, showcasing significant progress in Indo-US space cooperation. The meeting highlighted India's efforts in sustainable energy, including investments in Small Modular Reactors and clean energy technologies. The collaboration between India and the US, underscored by high-level delegates, focuses on advancing scientific research, enhancing economic growth, and promoting global leadership in emerging technologies. The discussions featured advancements in ocean energy, Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) technologies, biomass-to-energy conversion, biofuels, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, lithium-ion battery development, and indigenous battery manufacturing. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation in emerging technologies for mutual economic growth, national security, and technological leadership.
