Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India's pivotal role in driving its own growth and contributing to global progress through the energy sector during the third edition of India Energy Week in Delhi. Modi emphasized that investments in the energy sector are not only boosting India's economy but also creating numerous job opportunities for the country's youth while promoting green employment. He outlined ambitious energy goals for India, including the addition of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity, achieving net-zero carbon emissions for Indian Railways, and producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen yearly by 2030. Modi expressed confidence in achieving these targets, citing past decade accomplishments as a foundation. India's remarkable thirty-two-fold increase in solar energy generation capacity over the past ten years has positioned it as the world's third-largest solar power-generating nation. The Prime Minister also highlighted that India's non-fossil fuel energy capacity has tripled and that the country stands as the first G20 nation to meet the Paris Agreement goals. Additionally, Modi underscored the success of India's ethanol blending program, which currently stands at 19 percent, leading to foreign exchange savings, increased farmer revenue, and notable reductions in CO2 emissions.
