INOX Air Products has announced the commissioning of its first green hydrogen manufacturing plant at Asahi India Glass Limited’s greenfield float glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The plant, with a capacity to generate up to 190 tons of green hydrogen per annum through electrolysis powered by solar energy, has entered into a 20-year offtake agreement with AIS. As part of the agreement, AIS has invested in a solar power plant to supply renewable energy for the production of green hydrogen, which will be used in the float glass manufacturing process. Initially, 95 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen will be supplied to the AIS facility, supporting the manufacturing of high-quality float glass for automotive and architectural purposes. Siddharth Jain, the Managing Director of INOX Air Products, highlighted the crucial role of green hydrogen in India's energy transition towards decarbonization and achieving a secured energy future.
