Tecnimont Private Limited and NEXTCHEM, in partnership with GAIL (India) Limited, have successfully inaugurated India's first green Hydrogen production plant in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh. The project, awarded in May 2022, is a significant step towards promoting low-carbon energy solutions in India. The plant will utilize advanced 10-megawatt electrolysers to achieve a daily production capacity of 4.3 tons of green Hydrogen, positioning GAIL as a leader in megawatt-scale green Hydrogen production. This initiative aligns with India's Hydrogen Mission to achieve 5 million tons of annual green Hydrogen capacity by 2030, contributing to the country's goals of energy independence by 2047 and net-zero emissions by 2070. Green Hydrogen is highlighted as a crucial element in facilitating the energy transition, offering solutions for renewable energy storage, industrial fuel replacement, cleaner transport modes, and potential advancements in power generation, aviation, and maritime transport sectors.
